Yowzaa!! I can barely keep up with this!!

Love your website and your insight...right on! Having moved from one screwed up state (Louisiana) to yet another (Florida), I can certainly emphasize. The politicians here in Florida are always comparing Florida with California as if California is some sort of utopia that we should strive for...well, let me tell you...we're on our way! Drugs, crime, corruption, traffic, road rage, poverty, homeless and gangs (although not on the same scale as LA/CA), we're movin' on up! Gee, it only takes me 45 minutes (on a good day) to drive 5 miles to work now via the interstate, just think of all the fun I'll have in the future when it takes an hour and a half! After seeing your site I have half a mind to start a Tampa/Florida sucks site...but I won't, too tired!
Keep up the great work!
Too Tired in Tampa

Why are you such an unhappy person???? Wow such hostility in you isnt there? Well something must have been done to you seriously bad in L.A. you stupid freak why the hell didnt you get out of there sooner you dumb ass you complain and got pages and pages on it yet you moved around and lived there long enough! Then to top things off your crying about a stupid pastrami sandwhich like were fucking New York dumb ass thats why theres New York and theres L.A. i am not really defending L.A. just had to let you know you are pretty lame and are an angry sad sad lil man! I can care less about L.A. now since i have moved away from there and gotten to see the real world where theres alot more crazy shit to see than what i grew up seeing in L.A. both good and bad! Now i at least got out and dont sit around and waste my time making a website on why L.A. sucks get a life moran! I swear i am married to a white boy thats alot alot more inteligent than you and your one of them red neck racist sounding stupid muther fuckers that makes other white people sound stupid i feel sorry for you! Beacuse you prouably didnt have the money to go back to where it is you dreamed of living or had this looser job that wasnt even making you minimum wage or any kind of funds and prouably wanted to be someone there but failed in just about everthing! Well thats all i have to say i was bored to had to let it out somehow hahaaha! Hasta la vista pendejo!

So, I'm driving home today from work and some asshole cuts me off on the freeway causing me to slam on my brakes and get hit from behind...for the 2nd time THIS month after that crap was all settled and done I was annoyed so after I finished checking my e-mail I decided to type in "California Sucks" at Alta vista. Your site came up as number 10 I think but in any case you immediately grabbed my attention and I was glued to your site for literally hours reading and re reading the first time through I laughed my ass off. You seem to be a very cynical person as am I so I got a kick out of your readings, it wasn't until I was making my second rounds on your page that I realized everything you said is really true and that was the sad part. I'm 21 years old and a senior at Berkeley. I was born in LA and lived there until I was 16 I always wonder what I would be like/became if I still lived in that shit hole my parents used to call home. At 16 I moved to San Francisco not that this place is much better at all, and I just wait for the day of graduation to come so that I can get the hell out of this state. Anyways just thought I would share with you...loved the site, keep up the good work.

I couldn't agree with you more! LA is an open sewer infested with the most disgusting forms of human debris know to man!! I for one am sick and tired of the "home boys" and gang trash that seem to fill the streets. I don't mind living next to decent mexican or black families but, the garbage I see around here makes me want to carry my gun with me.
These damn bleeding heart fag lovers in city, county and state government are out to totally screw it for a decent person to live here. But where do you go? I have been to several other cities outside of California and they are just about as bad. The damn gang bastards have moved in there and trashed the inner cities and suburbs of most big cities.
All I can say there will come a time when the words "lock and load" mean defending your life and family. That is if these bastards in Washington don't steal our rights out from under us. Good job, I really like it!!

Greetings:

I'm e-mailing you to express my appreciation for your web site. I wholewheartedly agree with your contention that Los Angeles and the rest of Southern California are going to you-know-where in a handbasket. Your style is somewhat similar to Joe Pesci's narrative in the movie "Casino."
Although I didn't grow up in L.A., I was born and raised in Levittown, N.Y., a Long Island suburb located about 30 miles east of New York City. Our town was quintessential "Ozzie & Harriet," or Pleasantville -- a '50s community of more than 17,000 equidistant ticky-tacky Cape Cod and Ranch houses. Violent crime, drive-by shootings and other nonsense were unknown back then. In the last few years (even within a month) we starting to have our problems with violent crime, riff-raff neighbors, and blighted conditions.
Overall, no matter where you go, we're not going to see too many safe havens. A few years ago "ABC News Nightline" ran a weeklong expose that the hub of gang activity and drug dealing is not New York, Chicago or even L.A., but in America's Heartland. Such communities as Mason City and Des Moines, Iowa, are infested with crack and crank dealers, neo-Nazi and skinhead activities and extremely high rates of drug abuse (as much as 70-80 percent in some rural communities). I just wish we can turn the clocks back to 1957 and walk the streets without worrying about being jumped or whatever.

We can dream, can't we?

Anyway, thanks for your site.

Respectfully,

Ken

I read all your pages about "HELL-A". I'm the same age as you and visited HADES once in 1980. I felt panicky and couldn't wait to get out. I thought it was gonna be like the late 60's...really cool! [Like when Jim Morrison and the rock stars walked around on the Strip] The joke was on me! It was during the gas crisis & we got stuck in line at a gas station in some god-forsaken ghetto part of town. My brother and I sweated our asses off, wondering if the threatening looking assholes milling around the parking lot were gonna rob and kill us if we ran out of gas...[or maybe just smash the car window and drag us out & shoot us!] Damn, man, this was 20 years ago when things weren't even so bad. After having visiting LA and seeing BLADERUNNER, I didn't think it was so far-fetched [as you mentioned].
Do you ever see JAY LENO [your "smog-hero"] interviewing the mongoloids on Sunset Strip on his show? They don't know who is on the $1 bill, what country is North of the US, how many moons the Earth has, and other stuff we knew in kindergarden!!! For the sake of god man, move to TEXAS where the air is still fairly clean, crack addicts don't run the city council, and you can take a walk without being afraid of getting your head blown off!!!
Take Care,
Joe XXXXX

Technically one of the best web sites I've ever seen. You certainly have a political ax to grind, as most of us do(or wont admit). Your views of liberalism seem straight out of the lying foul mouth of the porcine, disgustingly obese Limbaugh.
I'm surprised you didn't show a drooling, freshly diapered Ronald Reagan who influenced and programmed (with lots of help from the BIG moneyed interest) so many gullible Americans to find a scapegoat for their failures. This icon of conservatism couldn't name a favorite book he had read, that's pathetic. If you know about conservative doctrine you should know about the entrenched need for the displacement of blame. Enough of that. Your site is great but lacks zero ideological balance. You know that there is plenty of rectal plaque on each side of the political spectrum. Oh well...fuck it. Nice job...mostly!
Sincerely,

I just viewed portions of your web site. I was doing research on Latino gangs for the volunteer work I do in my community. I also am of Mexican American decent.
My family history pre-dates the Mexican /American war so I feel pretty connected to this country, to this state and to my community. I still share the traditional values of my culture take pride in my heritage which does not interfere with my sense of being an American. After viewing and reading much of your site, I think I understand your frustration with the problems of gangs and crime. However, I kept asking myself: "Why would someone spend so much time, energy, and talent on laying out and reiterating the 'problems'? " You could put so much of that energy working on solutions in your own community. It might help dispel the 'stereotypes' and allow you to see people as individuals.

So my question to you is: "What positive contribution have you made to your community and is anything you have done or are doing making this world a better place?"

Be well,

Patti

I laughed my ass off with your site! I loved the combination of the midi player with the pictures (especially the murder section - the music accompanying made it feel like I was in a horror movie looking at those pictures with the Halloween soundtrack running...).

I'm from Boston. I went to college in CA for 5 years and now live back in MA. Every year I was in CA I went through one major disaster - riots, fires, floods and then the earthquake in '94 - had to sleep in my fucking car for 2 weeks while the structural engineers did their thing.

Although your site is filled with truth, I'm thinking about moving back simply because I'm a musician and LA seems to be the mecca for big careers in music.

Thank You!

I've sent this site out to everyone who thinks I'm nuts for bitching about how much California SUCKS. I moved here from Massachusetts 2 years ago (Bad move)! I hate this place!
Now I'm packing up my family and moving to New Zealand next month. Can't wait!

Thanks again for validating my opinion!

Best of luck,
John XXXXXX

Reading your website make reminded me why I retired as policeman and moved to north Idaho. Although this is not a Utopia I am sure glad to be raising my kids here. I hope that you too, may be able to leave and begin to enjoy life again without the constant fear. anxiety, paranoia and subsequent depression.
No, that's not why I retired. I was a victim of an on duty attack by a bunch of assholes who thought nothing of shooting at policemen. Well two of them are dead, two policemen were wounded, one crook is in prison and three are outstanding. I guess we won.

WHAT UP BROTHA,

FIRST OF ALL, I THINK THE PAGE IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. IT STATES EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN! I GOTTA RUN, BUT I WANTED TO JUST TELL YOU THAT ITS GREAT, AND I'M ON YOUR TEAM BUDDIE, AND I'M SICK OF ALL THESE YUPPIES BLINDED BY THEIR TRENDS! WELL TAKE IT EASY AND GOOD LUCK!

SEAN

Hi,

Wow - strong stuff regarding the City of Angels...

I actually think LA has a lot goin' for it - but I am prepared to qualify that...

Yes, the gang warfare and violence is bad, but these are only elements. I've been to LA three times, and I can honestly say that the people I met have been genuinely friendly and open.

For instance, this year I was at the Chinese Theatre (for Star Wars), and got chatting to a girl next to me, and a few minutes later she was inviting me out with her and a group of friends. Now she had no I idea who I was, yet she came by my motel and picked me up in her car.

She's obviously a very trusting person, but surely it good to be that way? But, there again we're both white, middle income people with a decent education.

If we become *too* cynical about everything and everyone, then we can only see what's bad, then things will get worse. We need to trust, or we will isolate ourselves totally from each other, and the feeling of neghbourhood (Neighborhood in American English I think?) will be lost forever.

Also, I live in England so what do I know? The handgun is banned outright here. There's probably less than 10 murders a year from guns in the entire UK.

I can see where you're coming from, and your arguments are justified. On first reading your page, I decided you were a right-wing extremist, but after further reading I can see that your someone you cares deeply about the City and wants somebody to wake up and smell the coffee, before it's too late. I wish you well, and I hope LA can rid itself of its bad elements.

Yours,

James.

I went to Los Angeles last summer for the first time and wrote a little bit about the things that I observed there... they weren't all that different from what you've written.
I have to say, I spent about an hour at your site this morning just laughing. I think it's great and I love your sense of sarcasm and humor.
I'll be back again, of that I'm sure.

Thanks-

-KXXXX

I am American with Mexican decent and I agree with you about LA.Its a sad place. I have family there I will never visit. I would never live there not even if my life depended on it (and moving there my life would be short lived anyways) but I do have to say that there are still nice places in CA. I live in Santa Clara, not the best place but its okay.
Give CA a better deal. Its not all bad, besides what place in the world is all perfect. Every state has a city ALOST like L.A.

Well I wish you luck. I hope you get out.

JR

I really enjoyed your site because I fucking hate California and LA in particular. However I can't help but feel that if you hate the place so much you must be a fucking moron to continue living there.
Generally I avoid places that suck as a matter of course.DUH.

Your page has some truth but its mostly stereotypical bullshit.
its obvious that your a racist. Despite that you have a "mexican" friend who your most likely calling a wetback when he's not around. I wouldnt be suprised if youve asked him to mow your lawn. Only because your too busy playing "secret games" in your bedroom with the neighborhood elementary school children to get off of your fat apple pie eating ass to clean your own yard . Your claim that the white man is "spit upon" ,"cursed", "mocked" ,"hated" ,"murdered" , "maimed" ,"robbed" and "plundered" is a funny thing to hear from a white man. Your "innocent " white ancestors robbed and plundered the indians and mexicans of their homeland ,maimed and murdered blacks not to mention enslaving them , and your innocent white ancestors hated , cursed ,mocked and spit upon all races that werent pure white. It just goes to show that you can dish it out but cant take it. Your the one with the web page "mocking" mexicans. all i saw of those cartoons was not white people being mocked ,but republicans . And its not behind their backs . If you have access to the cartoons then anyone does. Republicans are not the entire white race ( thank god ) although its obvious that you are. In the amount of time it took you to create this website you could have packed your stuff ,hitched your home up to your truck and moved to alabama where your kind belongs. That way when your fucking your sister you wont have to worry about loud music from lowriders drowning out your sisters screams of "shaft me harder big brother". Nor will you have to worry about your local store having corona take up space in the alcohol section. Instead it'll be filled with your favorites such as coors ,md 20/20 and old milwaukee light. No more burritos on the menu at the restaurants just your favorite mayonaisse and hot dog sandwiches with a side of cheetos. No more mexican channel just your favorite jerry springer shows played 24/7 . And also youll be able to marry and have sex with your 10 year old neice because its legal down there and i know how much youve been wanting to get in her pants .Besides its a white tradition .You have to molest children its in your nature. If you dont move then you better learn to accept the fact that mexicans will one day be the majority in california . AND THERES NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT... sincerely , J. XXXX - Seaside , California

My 16 year old son and I just got done looking at your site. Nice job, as you already know. I just wanted to say that I too grew up in the SFV, a stones throw away from Plummer & Gothic St. and went to Monroe High 67' The only thing to worry about back then, was deciding whether to wait to get drafted or enlist.

Anyway the place has gone to hell. I took my sons through there a few years back..you know this is where dad grew up stuff. It was really depressing. I use to go to a Church when I was a kid, at the corner of Nordhoff & Sepulveda, the area is now a gang infested little Mexico. Of course you already know this.

Two things to finish this off..1) Don't nut up on any assholes and low life neighbors, else you will end up in the custody of the CDC Calif Dept Of Corruption..I mean Corrections( I know as I a used to work there) and will be living with the human crap you hate. 2) In the not so far OLD days when the punk gang bangers arrived at the Prison I worked at, with their tough attitudes, they would get a no holds bared no mercy, attitude adjustment and after that even the biggest and badest Crip, Blood, etc. soon changed their mouths to no sir yes sir. They used to hire people who would kick ass on the convicts when they got out of line. Now they hire housewives and other politically correct persons. So as with everything else, the pendulum has swung from the right to the left and that does not go on anymore, no accident why the Prison system in Calif. is out of control, ( no more fear of swift punishment ). Oh well I got my pension they can all lay down in the beds they have made for themselves. As for me I'll be fishing.

Pete

I was just surfing the net & I looked at your web page after reading your opinions i couldn't stop reading, Im glad to see that Im not the only one who shares the same feelings about CA. Now don't get me wrong coming from a hispanic background there are a couple of your opionins that are questionable but about 85% of your web pages is true. When you finally move from CA good luck in finding a location not like CA/Los Angeles.

Sincerely: Villaxxxxxxx

Were you born with my brain in your head or what? I couldn't have created a web site that reflects my feelings any better than you did!!
Only I'm not from LA or California or anywhere near the west side of the country. I'm from Maryland, and believe me, this side of the nation is just as suckyfied as the west is... Keep up the good work and keep fighting!! Born in '55' too...near the Washington DC, Baltimore Metropolitan area. I just happened to stumble in to your website and got engrossed.

Later. Larry xxxxxxx

I just read your site. It is nothing but a bunch of reiterated crap with no original thoughts on your part. Everything you have said, has been said many times about many places. If you want any validity to your thinking processes, then you would get your butt out there and DO something about what you complain about so vehemently. If you don't choose to do anything except complain, you are no better than what you are complaining about. It takes someone with guts to take a positive action which you don't seem to be doing. There fore the only thing that I really gather from your site is the fact that you really only want to rant and rave.

A friend clued me in on your site. I think you've nailed down what a lot of us long-term SoCal'ers feel.
I was lucky to get out. In '67 we moved to 1000 Jokes, then in '71 to San Diego (my dad was in aerospace). Which brings me to the present...
My wife and I divorced in 'XX. A couple years after she re-married, and moved with my boys to San Marcos, which is in northern San Diego county. I had no choice...if I wanted to see my kids on a daily basis, then I had to move, too. The population here is...can you say "Cha-cha-cha"? The high school where my oldest goes is 90% Hispanic. The gang problem there was so bad in the past that for awhile I seriously considered private school, but they have made strides in the right direction, and because all his friends were going there, he wanted to also. So far there hasn't been a problem, but I constantly remind him to watch his mouth, his back, and be careful who he makes eye contact with. What a wonderful thing to have to tell your son.
If you drive a couple miles from my house, you are literally in TJ. Everything is in spanish. There is a huge block of low-income housing that is gang central. Anytime you drive, you're guaranteed to be stuck behind either a maroon mini-van with vinyl "wood" siding belching oil smoke with Chiquita and her brood going about 20mph from red light to red light, or a primered Thunderbird with just Juaaaaann's head showing above the window doing the same.
Everywhere you look is some Latina with 8 kids all 9 months apart walking down the road. The song "La Cucaracha" has taken on new meaning for me, because they are, to me, quite literally, COCKROACHES! They live like cockroaches, they breed like cockroaches, they have the same consideration for others as cockroaches.
Why is it when they go shopping, the WHOLE FUCKING FAMILY has to go?! And of course, they all stand in the middle of the aisle, chattering away and ignoring you, or walk right in your path without looking...the same way they drive. What really pisses me off is when I'm right behind them in the checkout line, and they pull out the Food Stamps. MY MONEY is feeding their 8 little cucarachas. Gee, Pedro, maybe if you didn't have so many FUCKING kids, you could afford to feed them yourself, and maybe even get your car fixed so it isn't smoking everywhere...and God forbid you have INSURANCE! But that would infer that you have a functioning brain capable of reasoning and rational thought.
When I first moved to San Mucous, I had to rent an apartment....
....The people above me played OOM-PAH crap constantly at ear-splitting volume (what the fuck is the fascination with TUBAS and that Polka beat - were they Polish in a past life?). The parking was extremely limited, each apt. was supposed to only use two spaces. These cucarachas routinely took up four or five spaces, which meant I had to park a couple hundred yards away. Any complaints were met with "THE STARE".
They finally screwed themselves. One day, the woman was doing laundry in the communal laundry room. She was using ALL TWELVE machines! There were only three of them in the apt., so obviously this was her side job. Hey, at least she's working! One of the other residents complained because she needed to do some laundry. They got in an argument, so Chiquita PUNCHES her in the face! This got the men involved. Enter poor, unsuspecting me. I come out of my garage to get my laundry out of the dryer, and I hear cursing in Spanish coming from the laundry room. Then one of the Latinos comes out, goes to his truck, reaches in, and comes out with a .45 in his hand, and starts back to the laundry room! Luckily my kids weren't there, if they had been outside, I have no doubt I would have tackled this guy and ground his face in the pavement. I turned and ran back inside. Turns out it was a BB gun! Once the other guy found that out, he was going to kick Pedro's ass. Pedro, the brave man that he is, turns tail and runs back inside his apt., then goes out on his balcony and starts waving a knife around. What a pussy. The upside was that this was all we needed to get them evicted.
The worst part of all this is, I didn't use to have this attitude. I certainly don't consider myself a racist. But, as you surely know, when you are confronted by this bullshit on a daily basis, it's hard not to become pissed off.
Thanks for putting up with my rambling, your site just opened the flood gates. Keep your spirits up, I hope you can escape soon. Take care.

John xxxxx

Great site with many accurate cold hard facts .Also being born in Sepulveda, I was not even offended at all. But , I can think of some positive information about California. The state boasts a couple cities listed as safest in the country ...Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley come to mind. I realize I am not backing this claim with references , I am too freakin' wiped out by the holidays to do the research , and I just don't care.

Happy Holidays to you. Monica

Well, you about covered the feelings of most every middle aged, white male in the country from one point or another !

You just became my hero.....

Thx

Absolutely great web site! So true... I once lived in So Cal in the San Fernando Valley until 1976. Moved with my family to another rat hole, however, when I see or visit the valley it makes me sick to see how it has become! Thank you for doing this, I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way.. by the way, I live in the Fresno County area, that has been little Mexico forever...

Nancy

I was born in 1956 (Bronx, NY) and came to California (L.A.) in 1964. It was beautiful then. I agree with everything you've put in your web page....why?
because it's all TRUE!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!

Lallia

Outstanding. Seriously.

To some degree Washington DC went into a hideous decline from which it is emerging only because the Feds got completely fed up with working in a city that was turning into a jungle... and because people like me (and you, evidently) got out and bitched and did it worldwide on the InterNet.

Keep up the good work! Your outrage is your best tool. Keep it sharp.

Ps, as soon as I figure where to put it (aside from being the "featured link" on my main page where it is now) I will add additional links to you as I may.

Rock on, brother!

I grew up in LA also. My moms family came here after the war (WW2) was over (from Michigan) . My parents meet at the Long Beach Pike. My dad was still in the navy and fighting the Korean war. They tell me Wilmington was once a wonderful place to live. Its pitiful now. We moved to Carson before it was actually Carson. I too was born in the 50's. In 1959 to be exact. I laughed at the thought of Sheriff John, made me think of Hobo Kelly too, LOL!
I too remember the Helms truck and also the Jewell -T truck as well. I know exactly where you are coming from when you talk about the changes that have taken place. When I home schooled my son for 1st grade, the LA school teachers were afraid he would not be up to par with their 2nd grade, HA! he took a test and was doing 3rd grade work instead. Too bad I had to go back to work, Poor kids.
My teen carpools out 30 miles to Fullerton (where my husband works) so that she can get a decent education. The SAT's that Fullerton Union High School scored were around 80% and above , where Carson High School was around 40% (the nations average was 62%) .
My kids cant play outside do to the gangs and even when we had a house (we bought in 1989 also) they wouldn't play in the back yard because the neighbors rottweilers scared them to death, scared me too.
We ended up short saleing our home after my co. laid off 500 people. Good OLE Nissan Motors. Well, they did let me work for them for 16 yrs first,LOL. The short sale was a blessing in disguise, but we still are struggling and I know what you mean, who wants to go bankrupt, and at 40 yrs old to boot.
My parents are retiring to Tennessee and have offered me and my husband all the help we would need to get started back there. Even would move us and Co-sign for a house for us. We have been struggling with the idea because we both are just now starting to make enough money to get out of debt. After reading your site, I am more persuaded now than ever to leave it all behind. But I have to say it will be hard in a way.

I remember the A&W root beer store on western and Torrance Blvd., in Torrance. How they use to skate up to the window and put a tray on it. How on the weekend the freeways looked like ghost towns, now its always crowded. We had to be home when the street lights came on. Now in front of my moms house in Carson, the street lights are shot out every time a new one is put in. SIGH. Well, it is late and I have to get up at 5:00 am. Oh yeah. I understand what you said about not being prejudiced, I am white and my husband is Mexican/italian. Its not about race, its about simple right and wrong. It breaks my heart to feel like I am being run out of town. I am apprehensive about how my husband and kids will be treated in Tennessee. But my husband is a real wonderful guy and my 3 kids are good kids. I dont think they will have a big problem. At least I hope not.

Well, thanks for hearing me out. Keep up the good work and I hope you and your family will one day breathe a little easier some place else,

Lorrie

It's fun to finally run into someone who hates LA more than I do! Wow. (I haven't lived here as long as you, so maybe I'll catch up, though.)
One thing that discouraged me though was the anti-Mexican slant of some of your emailers. I'm white -- NOT a yuppie -- and I've had nothing but good experiences with the Latino community in this town. I've been helped out with car troubles numerous times by Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, who didn't ask for a thing in return.
Four times this happened (I had a crappy car). Also, when it came time to sell my car and buy a new one, both times I dealt with Mexican immigrants who did not try to rip me off, as is standard practice in mainstream American automotive dealings.
Don't get me wrong -- I know the Latino community has its problems, a lot of which stem from poverty. But it also has its strong side, which is not really represented here. And people forget that at one time Irish, Italians, Germans, Polish and damn near every population in this country were at one time poor immigrants who got blamed for all the social ills of the day. Personally, I think L.A. would be a much WORSE city without the Mexican influence.

Thanks for an overall great site, though!

I have lived in the LA area for about 15 years and so I can speak from experience: LA does suck. The only thing important to the powers that be is that they see their investment in real estate appreciate in value!!!
Therefore there is a near fascistic obsession with striking out against and dissing anyone who would dare suggest that LA is not paradise on earth. LA is a giant auto grid where in the needs of the petroleum, automotive, and AIDS industries come first. I think it would be more accurate to say that people in LA are sick and dying rather than to say the people in LA are idiots. People in LA have simply descended so far into a state of disease and death that they are no longer capable of evaluating the living conditions found therein.
The difference between conditions in LA and conditions in central oregon is striking and my family lives up there and they are pleading with me to leave 'LA behind' (pun intended). Therefore, I may decide to contribute to the "Californication of Oregon".
Ultimately, I believe human beings as well as other life forms are driven by unconscious need of the seed to feed and then to breed. The world population is increasing exponentially and only limited by the dimensions of the earth and by disease and death caused by conditions increasing found in large metropolitan areas such as LA and the rest of the third world. Thus sadly, if we live long enough we may be witness to the "Californication" of the entire globe.

Who do you think you are to sit in front of your computer typing what you do!! you are some balding old man who is going through a mid life crisis and is taking it out on a state and city and everyone in it. are you perfect becasue the last time i checked no one is perfect. what makes you so righteous to judge everyone by saying who you want to go to hell. i think you are just a little to angry at the world and need to take a second look at life and GROW UP!!!

Hi,
Just call me "Osprey". My mate is "Coyote". We both escaped the nightmare of Sacramento in 1991. We moved to Olympia, WA. We bought 63 acres of incredible forest land on the Olympic Peninsula, Coyote got a great State job, and I run a really cool non-pc website, where I get to sell all kinds of anti-reconquista stuff! I'm sitting in my business office in Lacey, Wa right now, with a concealed weapons permit in my pocket, and a fully legal semi-auto AK-47 leaning in the corner of my office. It's legal here-no "registration". People here are very pro-gun, and seem very anti-statist for the most part. This state is still over 90% white.
We totally agree with your assessment of the cesspool/garbage dump that CA has become. I was born in Pasadena in 1960. The land of my birth has become a toliet. My reccomendation: Escape asap to the north, and prepare for CW2. We who see what is happening, need to "regroup", and you must be alive to do that. The really cool thing about the Reconquista, is that the yuppie bastards will get what they so richly deserve!
That brings a smile to my face.
Best,
Osprey

Great! Just f***ing great! Best web site I have seen since....probably EVER. Full points and you ought to get some sort of award for honesty.
It's a treat to hear how much LA has progressed since I left there 20 years ago. And the SF Bay Area was well on its way when I left there 6 years ago. Now, the small towns and cities all up through the inland West Coast are on the same execrable journey.
Here in North Idaho, we just have to deal with an incredible number of bleeding-heart, left-wing liberal Demopublican, granola-munching, tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, fruit-beer swilling, commie pinko faggot, dirt-eating druids who want to convince my kids in their government propaganda mills to marry any ethnic that happens by, because diversity is so f***ing wonderful, donchaknow, and we white guys are so stupid, prejudiced and hateful. To tell the truth, I liked my old Meskin neighbors tossing beer cans over the fence into my yard better by far than the oh-so-politically-correct assholes that are bent on destroying every last little white enclave that exists in this country. There is something fundamentally honest about a beer can in the grass, when contrasted to the gummint messing with your kids' heads.
There is no hope. The morons are EVERYWHERE now, with life coming in one size, dispensed through network TV and carefully repackaged in the government propaganda mills so that our children have no chance to ever think their way out of the cess we have allowed to pool around our ankles...knees....hips....(shoulders?).....hey, it could be worse - after all, it's only up to HERE.

Nice site I agree with you about 99.5% I'm about the same age I'm 43, same thing happened to me except half a country away I grew up in Chicago, immigration and public housing ruined my neighborhood seemed like overnight that I was the minority. I went searching for the world I grew up in, it aint there I returned to my roots in rural Virginia I'm now working for damn near min. wages, but I don't need to lock my doors at night I leave my keys in the car without worry,my stress level is way down my shotgun is still by the bed but I don't feel the need to carry my pistol in my pocket any longer.I don't know what happened to this country but it sure went to hell in the last 20 years and it only seems to be getting worse.
Hate to admit it to you but I drove a truck for a few years visited your city pretty often, didn't care to much for it but never drove a big truck in a city I did.I'll have to admit truckdrivers are the biggest concentration of idiots I've ever seen congested in one profession.
Well enough of that if you wanna talk trucking we'll do it another time. What we need to do is start getting vocal about the things that concern us the things we care about we cant afford to be the silent majority anymore cause were damn near the silent minority. the internet affords us the opportunity to all get together lets do it.
Thanks for your time James xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx, Va.

Hye Man,
I just moved here in January to go to law school on a full scholarship. I just want to let you know that you are dead on the money. My ass is going back to Alabama. I live in Fullerton, right across from the Mercado where they sell things I can't pronounce. A woman just came to my door tonight to try to sell me some kind of shit out of a basket. Of course her "sales pitch" was in Spanish. There is a perpetual domino game / beer party in the back alley that passes for a gargage where I have to walk around screaming drunks. Not saying Alabama is paradise, but it is a damn sight better than here. Screw the scholarship. It ain't worth it. Not that I hate Mexicans or anybody, but you can't even tell that this is freaking America.
I don't know why anyone would want to live in this hell hole for any longer than necessary. I'm sure a lot of them are good people, but , hey, this is our country, adapt to Us! Also, watching the news here is like watching a PBS documentary on Beirut. I also agree with you on soccer. Hell, we have baseball, basketball, and football, who needs that shit?
Anyway, there is a spare seat in my car if you can't take it any longer! :)
Take Care,
Mark xxxxxxxxx

Dear sir:

I found your website through author Tom Chittum's website (www.civilwartwo.com), and I read everything you've written with great interest!
I reside in Eastern Pennsylvania -- while the area is still somewhat rural, it is still wonderful to live here. Due to the construction/renovations of several major arteries, Eastern PA is also experiencing spic problems (but not to the extent of California). I've just visited Southern California (the LA/Orange County area to be more specific) two weeks ago -- the purpose of the visit was to take an exam for a job with the Orange County Fire Authority. Also, I spent the 48 hours I was in California doing some minor researching on the feasibility of residing in this state. The only area I truly enjoyed was the Pasadena area -- Orange County (at least the northern section) was too commercial for my taste (the residentials I saw were tight clusters and spic adobes -- not my style at all). LA itself needs a serious overhaul.
I did not have any negative experience when I was out there, and the people were actually helpful and nice. What I truly was concerned about was this bilingual activities -- this is the United States of America after all! In short, I agree with just about everything you've written on your website.
I am rather disgusted with the political manuverings throughout this great land of ours. I am in the very-beginning stage of forming a party that is based on "USA First" and programs that is for the rights of the states and the rights of the people. You are an individual that has energy that can help contribute to a turn-around that this country so desperately needs. If you are interested in joining such a political party, one where I damn well intend to change things, please contact me and I will forward to you the platform that it follows.
Thank you for your time, help and the wealth of information you've made available on your website.

Sincerely,
Kevin xxxxxxxxx

Hot Damn,
You hit it on the fuckin' head with your website ! I was born and raised in the heart of L.A. ( not in North Hills ) That's the "Valley" as you know. Try growing up around the gangs from Compton , Carson , Wilmington , Torrance , Gardena and Lawndale...Damn Mexicans and niggers everywhere..And getting worse..Now the slopes too..Melting Pot ?? MELTING SHITHOLE !!!
As a white boy in the L.A school system, you have to deal with a lot of racial shit. The Mexicans and niggers are keeping racism alive.
My first year in High School there was a race war. The niggers against the white boys..Everybody was packing guns..In the 10th grade I carried a .380 pistol...That was in 1980..Now its even worse..
My daughter is going to know how field strip and clean a F.A.L. rifle and some of the meanest street fighting moves by the time Junior High comes around.
I say dig a trench around the housing "projects" in Los angeles. Fill with gas and let it burn in..Why not ? Those bastards are doing their hardest to eliminate the whites. At least we will be able to cook hotdogs and some-mores off their burning flesh..
Black is bad and tan is grand.BUT WHITE IS THE COLOR OF THE BIG BOSS MAN...

Sick Fuck in L.A.,

Mike

Bravo!Bravo! I loved your site.
Where would you move if you had the chance? Any good places left?
I loved your "The way it used to be" I savored every line.

Nice Page: There are other AWM out there. I am also from CA but made it to Oregon. Like Ca was 20 years ago. People up here had the attitude that they didn't want Californians to move up here. But the economy sucked up here until skilled labor moved. Anyway if I get attitude i tell them " When everybody that is not from California leaves, I will go back"
anyway enjoyed your page

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time and effort to tell it like it is regarding Los Angeles and the "lovely" state of California. My wife and I will be moving out of California (hoorah!) shortly for many of the same reasons oulined in your website. Who would want to raise a family in this shithole?!?!? I found your site to reinforce my desire to get the hell out asap... thank you.

Not sure if this will help or not, but I am fairly certain that if your home has been your primary residence for at least 2 of the last 5 years that there will be no capital gains tax if you sell it. If you would like more info on this, drop me an email an I will point you in the right direction.

Thanks again!

Steve

Didn't know whether to laugh, cry or puke. I know EXACTLY what you mean, I lived in LA for a while after getting out of the service, the weather was great but I am from the Southeast of Texas and returned to go to college in Houston (yes we have our share of "bubbas" and their sister/wives). I had some interesting neighbors and enjoyed the sort of melting pot - the difference was this - the guy from Africa, the family from VietNam and the people from somewhere in East Europe all WANTED TO ASSIMILATE.
These folks knew that the country they came from was a crap hole and wanted something better. They all had some interesting customs and habits, but they set them aside if it caused problems (for instance, the Vietnamese family killed and ate their dog and I told them that we didn't do that in America and so they chilled).

This new breed of Mexican, the Reconquista pukes, are very different. They not only don't want to assimilate, they expect us to just give everything up to them.

Went through the same thing you did while in Houston and so we moved to the country. The stupid ass Mexicans followed and managed to destroy a nice little country/resort town - 1/4 of the town looks like Tijuana - oh boy, let's celebrate more multiculturalism! Now they are talking of "LA RECONQUISTA" and getting the whites out - even starting to fly the Mexican flag over some businesses.

What choices do we have? Should we stay and fight and go to jail, or do we just move on?

Some border towns here in Texas have actually gone to Spanish only as their official language - can you believe it?

Have you ever noticed that the biggest proponents of Mexican illegal immigration are either illegal aliens, border town politicians or northeastern liberals (as in Washington DC) who decry this as Washington.

I have a great idea - why don't we set up a bus service and take all these Mexicans DIRECTLY to Massachussets, Washington DC and just about any other liberal enclave. Any proponent for illegal immigration can sponsor an illegal immigrant in THEIR OWN HOME! Let them all have a big diversity celebration (bring your own AK-47 and machete)!!!

Sincerely,
Big Al from Texas

Nice Website, but how do you really feel?

The "Social Engineers" are doing a wonderful job of screwing up California. Next will be the rest of the country. I moved out of S.C. in the late 1970's. A good choice. Moved to Texas (not the panhandle where all the morons have congregated, as you discovered). At least here, I can legally defend myself against gang bangers, etc. Your crooked politicians support the gang-bangers, else they would allow the average citizen to avail himself of some constitutional rights (what are those???).

Keep up the good work and keep your eyes open!

WH

You have a tremendous site. I have never laughed so hard -- your stories about Oklahoma, Texas and Canada are priceless. I'll keep checking back for more entertainment.

Hi,
I live in middle TN and we are covered up in them. The stores are crawling with them and sometimes I dont know where I am anymore! Now they are squawking to the local gov. that there are not enough latino speaking officers on the police force.....so the solution......heaven forbid they learn the local language, no, train more officers to speak "their" gobbitly gook......I could vomit.

Hey Bruce....
I'm a retired refugee from CA. I was into farming in Reedley and Kingsburg after I fled LA for a better way of life. Yeah, I was burglarized 3 times in 16 years (farm workers) and when I retired I came to Sandpoint ID. This is heaven. I don't advocate running from a fight but the gov't in CA caters to these illegals and other minorities. Did you know that people of 'color' now outnumber whites in CA.

Don't despair. There is an organization that needs your help.

(snip)

xxxxxx is in No Carolina right now fighting city hall over the illegal immigrants from Mexico in their community. The city fathers have reconsidered the decision to ship them back. . . this after a expense paid trip to Mexico!!! Someone has to stand up to Jesse Jackson, NAACP, and La Raza. We're organized now . . .come along!

From: "Pastor xxxxxxxx" Thank you Sir for a great truth . I my self left So Cal in 1973 and my engineering position with Lockheed Aircraft, because none would listen to our warnings !
It was obvious what was planed - we whites were to be introduced to the wonders of " multiculturalism" ! As a WW2 vet I soon came to the conclusion we won a battle and LOST our country ! We have a web site< christianaryannations.com> and would like to link to your site if you approve

I love it!!! Exactly my sentiments.

Texas is also turning into a 3rd world shithole especially in the Southern portion of the state. Liberals who have never lived among these people (and I use the term "people" loosely) can't even imagine how bad it is.

I'm sorry about your experience in the Texas Panhandle. However, if you will look at a map which includes both Texas and Oklahoma you will notice the Panhandle's relationship to the fine State of Oklahoma. What you encountered were actually misplaced Oklahomans. The panhandle is chock full of these suckers.

Don from Texas

Bruce; I want to congratulate you on your site. And you don'thave to editthis letter, except my e-mail address, ok? I found this site while searching for information on Chuck-o, The Birthday Clown. Would you believe, this is the only reference Copernic could come up with on him?
I am from Indiana originally. My dad killed himself in '59, and we moved here in '60. Of course, as an impressionable kid, I thought the L.A. area was really cool. But right around the Watts Riots, I noticed a definite change coming over the area. It took me 31 years, but I finally got out when I put myself through truck driving school in Corona, and went to work for the company with the tan trucks with the white trailers with the big yellow doors. You see a lot of our trailers on trains, now. (I hope that is enough information on them so you know who they are without actually mentioning their name, and possible getting in trouble for it.) I drove 48 states for several years, then when (this outfit) started putting all the freight on trains, I transferred over to their intermodle division, and chose the Portland/Vancouver area. Then, after a few years of that, I got sick to the point that I can't work anymore, and have to subsist on so-so security. (Iread your comments on "Big Riggers, and believe it or not, Iagree with you. There are a lot of "cowboys" out there that a lot of us "old hats" would like to see taken off the road.) In order to survive, I was forced to move back down here to freakin'Freakno. It may not be L.A., but it is still Crapapornia. My brother and I are hoping to move out as soon as Mom is gone. It's looking like Missouri is going to be the target state, because I have been researching several states, and Mo. seems to be the cheapest to live in.
Any way, what I wanted to say is, I have spent the last few hours going through every page on your site, and I have to assume God made a boo-boo. He was supposed to make everybody different, but I think he let two identically minded souls get through, and gave you one, and me the other. I can find NOTHING to disagree with you on. Excellent page, and I am glad you finally are getting out of that cesspool. I noticed your "no mans land" included Western Montana. I have driven through there several times, and it has to be the most beautiful place on earth. But, sorry to say, I just can't afford it up there. But, my brother and I are determined, we are going to leave this sorry ass state eventually. In the meantime, I hope you'll keep us informed of your progress where ever you end up. On that subject, good luck, and my God lead you and yours safely to your destination.

Daniel

Hi,

I came across your web site after reading an article in the Riverside Press Enterprise about how whites are rapidly becoming the minority and that Mexicans are taking over the whole state. I became outraged and typed in "California sucks" on the search engine and found your site. I'm so sick of this place I couldn't even begin to tell you.
I was born, raised and practically lived most of my life in this once, small town in Riverside County. My town was safe, quiet, pretty, and everyone pretty much knew everyone. We had a lot of ranches, horses and orchids, clean air and peace of mind.
Now my once quaint little town is becoming a cancerous-growth, scum-infested, sewer pit. There are hoards of people moving in, if you want to call them people.....blacks, gangs, more and more Mexicans who won't learn English and white trash. Actually, most ALL of the people living here are pure trash, regardless of their race. I feel like a black hole has sucked me into this horrible, dark world where everyone looks like a freak. Or I've walked into a circus side show. Gangs are littering our streets, the orchids are long gone, it's smoggy, putrid and vile. Some of the morons are still considering this place "a great place to live compared to others" but their heads are full of shit. What the hell do they know?
Every time I hear these stupid ass Mexicans speaking Spanish, I want to scream at them, "We're in America! Speak English or get the hell out of here!" I find that my mother and brother feel the same way as I do. I loved your segment on "Is this the USA or Mexico"? You really hit the nail on the head with that one.
My husband and I are so fed up with this hell hole, we're moving to West Central Florida after the first of the year. Hubby has family there and we've visited there several times, and from what we've seen, it's a thousand times better than this!! The people look normal, the air was clean and the drivers weren't maniacs. I'd rather deal with humidity, mosquitos, and hurricanes than to put up with this California shit any longer.
And it's true, ALL of Southern California is going down the sewer. Crowds, crime, smog, traffic, floods, fires, earthquakes......this state can shake to death, break off and fall and disappear into the ocean for all I care. Well, not before my family gets out first.

Thanks for your page.

Bob and Jana Xxxxx

Boy I couldn't agree more. California is the fucking stinking armpit of the united states. Hey you can have the God damn beach. and every fucking homeless asshole that has to sleep under the walk ways to the beach. And the God damn people, Yes I too grew up in the good old 60s and 70s When I went to school there were things you were taught and the teachers took a genuine interest in you and you did the best you could and u had respect for teachers. Not any more. but I like my friends always did our best. Jesus Christ now how do u learn when 90 percent of the class has been swimming up a muddy stream and traveling in the trunk of some coyotes car for a month getting past the boarder patrol and then put their kids in school and what the hell did they say last month that there was over 49 different languages spoken in L A unified school district. Well, the way I see it the teacher better be fluent in something more than English because the fucking piece of shit ACLU tries to sue over the English only proposition. I mean these kids Arnet going to learn, they cant even talk to each other! and every boat in the la harbor is delivering stereos and immigrants in their containers some alive some dead. Hopefully more dead than alive. I live in Temecula and last week in the news paper they reported that the boarder patrol had seized over 300 illegals, dope, stolen cars, weapons, counterfeit money and the ACLU again wants to close it down because because its unconstitonal.(hope my spelling is right its 2 am) I mean what the fuck is the agenda with these people.
California sucks. I go to the Screw me royally DMV to find out about a car i need to register. That has been in the garage for a few years. ooh that will be $1600.00 . Christ I have a little vacation home in AZ and they give u $5.00 off if do your registration in person so they don't half to deal with the paperwork. How else can I get fucked in this state? I cant afford a home in the city because a 40 year old that needs fixing up is $300.000 and they say California needs to build 80,000 homes a year to keep up with demand! where the hell are all the people coming from. U mean to tell me the kid i got my double whopper from today is buying one of these homes. maybe i should ask them where they came from and ill move there. because i hate going to a boxing match to find out its just me trying to get a table at a restaurant. every one is in a hurry their irritable and they suck. yes i want to go where i can make a decent living and their isn't some greedy son of a bitch sitting in the capitol thinking i need to suck some more wallets dry. their is more to life than money and California is a greedy materialistic, ego driven. piece of crap, over priced over populated very overrated piece of dirt. and that's the nicest thing i can say about it 'well thats just an overview of the things i hate about this shit town. California can blow me

glad to hear you got out of this shit hole. hope you keep your site up. whatever you do don't let all these sorry sob's know how great it is were you are going .hate to see another state fucked up by california residents moving to the state. good luck, and i am in total agreement with you on what you had to say in your web site. enjoy your new prosperity of living outside of the war zone the U.S. CALLS CALIFORNIA.

Hello,

I came across your page looking up some musical stuff. Weird huh? Anyway, I must warn yah that I can't sleep so instead I'm here looking at your page! So I might have a lot to say!

Just Ramblings:
I don't mind your page, I think its great! Really I do! I'm not offended in anyway. It could have been New York, Montana, North Dakota, you were bashing and I would still be sending you this. hehe LUCKY YOU!

Now some things you said:

Beauty and The Beast: Why does everyone think that Californians are all RICH and can afford the plastic surgeries and stuff. I mean that's only the RICH and FAMOUS..not all Californians....

Gangs And Crime: No matter where you go I'm sure each state has a problem with gangs and Violence! True, LA is one of the worse for it though!

Murder and Mayhem: Boy that's true! But its EVERYWHERE! I've lived all over the country....you hear and read the newspaper there's ALWAYS something going on..in Chicago..NY...Dallas...even in MONTANA!! I mean look at Colombine (sp?)..who would have thunk it! I think the whole nation is corrupted! Ok,that's taking it to far! hehehe.

Earthquakes fire, and floods: Yes there's all of that in Cali..but its not that bad. For example San Francisco gets a major earthquake every 10----15 years..LA gets more not as huge but its years since it happens. Have you ever lived in the EAST or SOUTH? MAN, talk about hurricanes in the East EVERY YEAR! Tornados in the South EVERY YEAR TOO! That scared the hell out of me! Glad I left the EAST! hehe.

SMOG AND POLLUTION: You have a point here!!

LA school district: I agree with you here. But its all of CALIFORNIA that lacks in education standards! SAD but so true!

Is this the USA or Mexico?

Hmmm the USA?! Just kidding. Immigration is a national problem not just a California problem! You go to Florida its the Cubans..... NY is the Puerto Ricans...IRISH....Why is that when people talk about Immigration is always LATINOS? What about the IRISH....RUSSIANS.. et et et?!?

The Way it Used to be: It used to be part of Mexico!! hehehe. Change HAPPENS all over the USA...all over the WORLD...you can't expected it stay the same. If you wanted it to be like the 50's again...then we would still have RACISM at its fullest! Change is good and bad! Although I would have loved to be living in the 50's and scream for ELVIS!! lol

If I ran the Circus: THERE GOES WHAT WAS LEFT OF CA! LOL

You know what you should include on your page? A section on CA professional Sports Teams! LOL I'm just NOT a FAN of all the pro teams in CA! You know! You can start w/ the Paper Clips!! hehehe

Suggestion: YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF CALIFORNIA!!! Try Utah! LOL

Again nice page! I liked looking at it..it gave something to do tonight, since I can't sleep! Is this your first page? Cause if it is ..its quite good!! HTML is hard...once you get the hang of it its easy! But you have GOOD POINTS....your views are interesting and hey you have PICTURES! YAY!

Take Care!

Monica

Sir,

With respect the content of "Why Los Angeles (and California) Sucks," it is caviar. Your thorough and honest presentation of the crime, filth, and savage Mexican nationals feasting upon Southern California's rotting corpse like so many diseased maggots will, with luck, prevent prospective residents from making very bad, if not perhaps lethal decisions for their families. If the United States had an arm pit, after all, Los Angeles would be it.
I'm writing to thank you profusely for constructing this site. Along with warning off potential victims, "Why Los Angeles Sucks" reassures the existing, upstanding residents of Los Angeles that they are not alone in their sorrow, regret and bitterness over the area's annihilation by some of the worst "humans" to have ever walked the earth. There are millions of native "Angelinos," of all creeds and cultures, who feel precisely as you do, but whom are frightened of airing such opinions for fear of retaliation (in any form). Frankly, it is sadly ironic that were this 1953 and your views on L.A.'s problems were transposed to communist infiltration, your ideals would be paraded about by politicians as a paradigm of "THE American Way." Yet in the year 2000, and when referring to third-world garbage who by all measures elevate communists to the standing of divine saints, the very same despair over infiltration and desecration is blindly shat upon. I suppose that only demonstrates just how anti-American and bigoted some of our new "citizens" in fact are.
My best wishes on your recent decision to set up shop in Oregon. Hopefully, you will find the sort of life up there that many DECENT people mistakenly believed they would experience in "The City of Angels."
And to the clowns who think your site should be dismantled, well, all I have to say to them is: "Chingar tu madres con el mierda de los gringos, mojados!"

Best wishes.

--Ricardo

L.A. is a very, very cool place if your in arts and entertainment. Everyone else, including all of the demographic bodies you harangue are but servants. All boring people should leave LA immediately.

Hi Bruce

Your site was sent along to me by Katie in AZ. Outstanding, VERY well done and funny. As an escapee from occupied California while still in my early teens, (North Hollywood, many years ago, when it was just a working class town and had not yet become the homosexual Mecca of SoCal) I really do appreciate your description of just what it takes to live in LA. The fraud, vacuity, false earnestness, pretense - it's all so, well how can I put it, JEWISH. Very well done, gotta chuckle.

Keep up the great work, and keep punchin'

Best Regards

Hello,

I am a third generation Californian who is moving to eastern Washington early next year. I live in the "Silicon Valley" area that is so glamorized and promoted by the media. Let me tell you what I have seen in the thirty years I have lived here. I have seen housing go from something everyone could afford to something that only computer scientists married to lawyers can afford. I have seen traffic go from bad to worse to insane. It now takes my wife forty five minutes to go five miles to work and back, and this is considered to be a "good" commute! Rents average $1000 a bedroom per month. A two bedroom apartment in a decent neighborhood costs $2000 a month.
But wait, it gets better. There are very few good restaurants here, the local "culture" is a joke, and the local sports team plays hockey. I often say to my friends "Silicon Valley is just like New York city, but without the restaurants, the theater, the museums, the culture, the parks, the sports franchises or the transit. Other than that it's great!
Oh, did I mention the Bolshevik government we have here that takes %10 of my income in taxes and another 8 1/2 percent in sales taxes? Really, Comrade, it's a wonderful place to live! To not say so might be a hate crime!

New York city has a central park that is over 900 acres in size. San Francisco has Golden Gate park which is almost 1100 acres. Santa Clara has a central park too. It's very nice. It's almost forty acres! Wow! Well, that is certainly enough park area for a city of millions. Oh yes, life is good here. Did I mention the traffic? Or the fact that you cannot get to any of the recreational options that used to exist for us twenty years ago, because the traffic won't allow you to get there? How can you go to Tahoe for the weekend when it takes fourteen hours to go one way because of the traffic? Oh boy, lets have a sandwich by lake Tahoe and then start on the trip back home! Or you could go to Santa Cruz, and enjoy Mexico by the beach! Or, go to picturesque San Francisco, and enjoy traffic and parking that is even worse than Silicon Valley!

Speaking of the Mexicans, Blacks, Chinese, East Indians and all of the others who are coming here, all I can say is this: If familiarity breeds contempt, then forced familiarity breeds outright hostility. I used to be a liberal. Now, well, lets just say that my views have changed a lot. As far as the future of California is concerned, I am reminded of another multiethnic wonderland that was once promoted by the mass media. It was during the '84 Olympics, and it was called Sarajevo. You know, in Bosnia? Yes, multiculturalism and diversity are wonderful things indeed.
The open hostility that exists here already is frightening to behold, and it's only going to get worse over time. How is someone supposed to feel when the signs in all of the local stores are written in Cantonese or Mandarin? How are you supposed to feel when nobody around you speaks English anymore? How are you supposed to feel when the neighborhood that you grew up in now looks like Beijing? No wonder so many people are experiencing "road rage", "air rage", and all of the other rages that are afflicting our society.

One other thought. Isn't it just interesting that the demands of the looney leftists concerning so many issues, like immigration, "diversity", "tolerance", welfare, social security etc. etc. ad infinitum ad nasuem just happen to perfectly coincide with the interests of the multinational corporations and the robber barons who run them? Big business wants an unlimited supply of cheap, pliable, subsidized labor. This way they can pay a sub-living wage, and the stupid taxpayers end up with the bill for their needs that these workers cannot afford to pay for!
Here is how the cycle works: A citizen of the third world finds themselves displaced due to the "free trade" policies that their government was forced at gunpoint to adopt (via the WTO, World Bank, IMF, etc.). Said worker wants to survive, so they set their sights on the "land of opportunity". They arrive (legally or illegally, doesn't matter) and immediately receive benefits from the taxpayers. Their kids get free education, their family gets free food stamps, along with medical and dental care. Their elders get Social Security benefits even though they never paid into the system.
All of this is being paid for by you and I, not by the corporations. Said corporations can then take advantage of this cheap, pliable, subsidized labor pool. Because they get the labor so cheaply, they can price their products very aggressively. So aggressively, that they are able to drive whole industries in other countries out of business. This creates a new wave of displaced workers, who set their sights on "the land of opportunity", and the cycle continues.
Meanwhile the churches piously implore us to accept even more immigrants into our country because it's "what Jesus would do". "Capital, authority, Clergy. This is the three headed hydra that guards the gates of this prison called Earth". I forget who said that, but it's true. Someday we will have to properly thank the churches for all they have done to hurt our nation.
Remember how NAFTA was supposed to help reduce immigration from Mexico? Did you check their wages there lately? Or the illegal immigration numbers? How about the corruption problem that NAFTA was supposed to help reduce? Oh yes, Mexico is a model of reform today. That's why the son of the President of the country was kidnapped by the local chief of police!
I see two possible futures for California at this time. One future looks like Brazil, with walled communities surrounded by endless slums. The other looks like Bosnia. Bosnia or Brazil - what a choice of futures. My heartfelt thanks to the robber barons and liberals who made it all possible. Myself, I'm voting with my feet and getting the hell out of here.

Best regards to you and yours,

Some of the shit is funny, some true, some exagerrated. Anyway, I'm 100% Peckerwoodand proud of it. I live and work in the SFV. If you sympathize with our cause then, when your children are grown, move back. Don't be like the rest of t he fools, who talk shit, act tough, and pretend they will back us up and then cut and run to some place that is 99% white.
So when you have raised your children to be decent human beings, come back and reclaim your home. Its only a matter of time before the shit goes down, and its going to be us white boys that come out on top.
Just wait until the economy gets bad again. People become angry with eachother. There will be no technological revolution to bring us out of thenext recession. Next time, it will be worse than the last one. Just watch.

well, where do i begin....i am a native Californian and i agree with the crap in this city.. L.A. does have some very good pionts about it but the crap seems to override it in alot of ways.Im 24 years old and i have been here my whole life growing up in the sanfernando valley in a few places that you yourself have lived ...i now live in ventura county and find it a much better place to live then L.A. and the valley.. we call the Valley "The troll hole".I grew up there untill 4th grade and then moved out of the SFV and couldn't be happier.. one thing that is very obvious..and i hate to say it but it is just fact....first im not racist or a biggot in any way.. but over the past id say 10 years the latino community has doubled or trippled in popluation.Crime has gone up and education has gone down.I have to say i notice when i see a white guy in Reseda.i feel if i want to go to Tiajuana just get off at Tampa or white oak. I want to move from here but im employed in the entertainment industry and i have to work in Burbank/Hollywood sadly to say.All the pictures that you have posted are of the mexican minorities that have nothing better to do then join gangs and not give a shit about humanity.Sure, there are others who fuck this place up too..but its something that is a fact.Anyways, your webpage tells the truth and i hope if you have moved out it has been very good to you. I have talked to someothers who have departed.. and they have stated."My coffee tastes better i have hair back on my head and i have a smile on my face"

Others in different states all hope that Kalifornia falls into the F-ing Ocean.

Anyways, take care and Ride a safe trail !

California sucks.I go to the Screw me royally DMV to find out about a car i need to register.

Ok, that's taking it to far!

LOL

Hey sorry if I'm being so rude or bitchy..didn't want to come out that way. Is just that I'm studying Geography/Economics/ in college so I know all these facts by memory! And I just had to tell yah! lol AND hey I LOVE TO ARGUE! I hope I didn't offend you in anyway! Its always good to have different views on stuff you know! I don't live in California, I was born and raised there and right now I'm visiting! I currently live in Phoenix AZ!
YIKES!

YAY!

Sorry for being so long!

Take Care!

Monica

So, the old website is going well, I presume? Well, though we all know that L.A. is not the place for you, nor is even the Bay Area. But what about the rest of California? What's wrong with San Diego? And if you don't like the liberalism or the excessive hustle and bustle of L.A., what about other parts of California. Places like San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Eureka, Redding, Crescent City. Aren't they anywhere near as mundane as those areas you contemplated moving to? Those places are virtually nothing like the Bay Area or L.A. I find it interesting when I drive between the Bay Area and L.A. to see the significant change in scenery. I usually take I-5, and you know that from here to there is virtually nothing. I-5 even avoids the cities like Fresno and Bakersfield. I've driven along US 101 before, and that looks even better. It's amazing, when you leave the Bay Area, it's a gradual change. When you see Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barabara, and Ventura counties, it's amazing. They are very serene, and beautiful. THEN you get to L.A., and the picture does drastically change! There are about 150,000 gang members in L.A. County alone, and that's about 60% of all gangs in California. HA! Some of the other counties on the coast don't even have as many people as that! I guess I've never seen the really bad areas of L.A., namely East or South L.A. But what about the working areas? You know, like Monterey Park, Artesia, or Cerritos? Those areas populated by immigrants (primarily from the Middle East or Asia) who have many businesses around, and have no time for drug dealers who belong in Watts or Compton. I guess you don't see any good in L.A. or California. My input: well, if the people suck, at least the land looks nice. To me, any place too far from the ocean sucks, at least for the most part. As far as people go, I do think it's nice that we have diversity. You know, you get to learn more about people, and the world around you. Try new things, get to understand other concepts and ideas better. It's a good supplement to learning everything by the books. You name any country in the world, and you will find at least 1 person, probably even 5 people, from that country living in L.A. County or California (let alone the U.S.). Don't worry, though, because I do see the downside of that. Answer me this: have white and black ever mixed peacefully in any civilization on earth? Look at South Africa! How pathetic! Even the United Kingdom is known for practices of institutionalized racism. The histories of Africa, Europe, and the Americas, have not been complete without tension between the two races, regardless of whose fault it is (I usually prefer to take a neutral stance in an argument). Issues of slavery, savagery, etc. Face it, a society dominated by co-existence of black and white is NOT destined to be an easy one! That's not all either! How about white and red. All those issues of slavery, land rights, savagery, etc. (once again, I'm not taking sides, just proving a point). Note that no country in the Americas is dominated by Native Americans anymore, but rather, people of either European, African, or mixed ancestry. Mexico, of course, is dominated by people of European and Am. Indian ancestry (with the Am. Indian ancestry being more dominant). So, basically, tension between whites and Latinos amounts to these long-lasting conflicts: European vs. Am. Indian; English vs. Spanish; indigenous inhabitant vs. conqueror; native vs. immigrant. Strange to think that Asian history has not really been like that. Every Asian country has a few thousand white people, but nothing like Africa or the Americas, where they became a dominant minority or the majority controlling everything, diminishing the status of the indigenous inhabitants, and brining other outside races. I often wonder if U.S. history would have less marked racism if the dominant minorities were, say for instance, East Indian and Chinese. Moreover, if you ask me, tensions between blacks and Latinos seem to be the worst conflict in L.A. and California. All those years of feeling cheated by white men, you would think that they would feel more united. But instead, they seem to drain more hate towards one another rather than towards white people. That seems to be the story of public schools in the Bay Area and L.A.: black and Laitno students refusing to get along. In short, we may have all nationalities. Yeah, we have ethnic Chinese from Southeast Asia, ethnic Indians from East Africa or the UK, South Africans of European ancestry, Jamaicans who might even be from the UK as well, people from unheard of countries such as Chad, Senegal, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Paraguay, Slovenia, countries of the former Yugoslavia, etc. Immigrants from the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Philippines, Korea, China, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, etc. Large numbers of Central Americans (mostly El Salvadorians). And of course, Native Americans. HOWEVER, does all that really seem to matter when nobody seems to notice any of them? Despite all the ethnic, racial, religious, economic, political, and mixed of the above that we have in L.A. and California, it's as if they've been made invisible in the shadow of what seems to be the three dominating races: European American, Mexican (that is, Spanish/Am. Indian), and black American. And this goes back to what I was pointing out earlier about how white and black never mixed well in virtually any society at virtually any point in history, as was and is the case with white and red. And black and red for that matter. So, while I think it's great that you can see all these ethnic, racial, religious, economic, and mixed groups in L.A. and California, they all have one thing in common: they will all have to live in the shadow of the three dominating races. That, of course, means, conflicting with someone else. I told you, the combination of these three races/ethnicities is probably the deadliest social combination I can think of. So, L.A. and California, and overall the U.S./Canada continent are becoming increasing Latino? Maybe I'm biased being Filipino, but I would rather see a California that's 80% Latino than 20% black. After all, from what we know of statistics, either way, you will have the same number of people behind bars. Besides, at least many Latinos have a strong work ethic, like many of the Europeans and Asians who built this continent and world. On the other hand, African Americans are considered among the laziest of people in this society (and Native Americans, too). I prefer to see increasingly Latino than increasingly black. Oh well, we can't change history, can we? As long as the history of the U.S. and the Americas is based on the meeting of European, African, Native American, and mixed racial civilizations, can we ever avoid conflict. No wonder Japan has such a low crime rate. Only 1% of the people in Japan are not ethnic Japanese. Face it, with such complicated social identities, and the domination of those identities by specific entities, you can never avoid social tensions. You can only try to be neutral. I vested this into an idea that I came up with in writing a story about how L.A. meets the ultimate doomsday: closing all the aqueducts bringing water from the north, increased traffic jams, increased air pollution, increased crime, and skyrocketing illegal immigration resulting from decline of border patrol. Actually, the latter idea is one of the driving forces of the former ideas. Gang fights are everywhere, as are flag burnings. Thousands of people get ill or die everyday. You have people across the rest of California and the U.S. chanting "Nuke L.A.!!" on the streets. Finally a group of young high school/college students decide to take matters into their own hands. Most are from L.A. or California, though many are not (remember that universities have many non-Californians or non-Americans). Some do so through peacekeeping work, others do so through revolutions, armed with nothing more than skateboards or roller blades and mothball guns. Finally they get their message across. L.A. decides to clean up it's act, and so do the other cities and countries of the world. Anyways, that's all on my agenda for now. Now that I'm a college student, it's time to do more thinking. I take a sociology class anyhow. I will probably discuss this type of thing eventually. Good luck finding a newer place.

Sir,
With respect the content of "Why Los Angeles (and California) Sucks," it is caviar.
My best wishes on your recent decision to set up shop in Oregon. Hopefully, you will find the sort of life up there that many DECENT people mistakenly believed they would experience in "The City of Angels."

And to the clowns who think your site should be dismantled, well, all I have to say to them is: "Chingar tu madres con el mierda de los gringos, mojados!" ?

Best wishes.

Hi Bruce Your site was sent along to me by Katie in AZ.

My heartfelt thanks to the robber barons and liberals who made it all possible. Myself, I'm voting with my feet and getting the hell out of here. One last question: I noticed in your map of "No - man's land" that you had Spokane carefully excised from the area. Any reason why? Spokane struck me as a very nice city overall, although there did seem to be a lot of churches in the area.

Best regards to you and yours,

Hi,
Went to your website at http://www.geocities.com/bmherder/index.html I poked around a bit and read what you had to say. You, my friend, hit it on the head. Smack dab on target.
Personally speaking, California as a state and as a place to live is now totally screwed (to put it mildly).
I'm 53 yrs old. Grew up in Oakland, California and spent some time in LA (HAD to go there to see what all the hoopla was about). What I found was a sick, perverted, twisted town with values that could only be found in the sewer or on glossy "in fashon" magazines.......and THAT was back in the 70s and 80s. I ain't even going to try to guess what it's like now from a first hand view.....for that I'll take your opinion of it to be what it is today.
In Oakland, California when I was growing up and in Alameda where I attended High School back in 1961-65 you could ride your bicycle *ANYWHERE* you wanted to and I did. From 2218 21st Avenue where I lived with my grandmother till I started high school in Alameda (it was a cleaner school than anything found in Oakland at that time) in 1965 I would ride my bicycle everywhere. I'd ride my bicycle INTO downtown Oakland, Berkeley, the Oakland hills, Walnut Creek, and all over Oakland and NEVER felt threatened or intimidated or even unsafe. Hell, back in 1965 after graduating from Alameda High a friend and I got a bug up our ass one night at about 11 pm and decided to take a bus to San Francisco and walk all over the town and explore it. We left Oakland and arrived at the San Franciso bus terminal around 11:30 or midnight or thereabouts. From the bus terminal we walked ALL OVER that town taking pictures with my flash camera. We walked through ALL the streets of Chinatown including all the alleys of Chinatown. The reason for THAT....going up and down the alleys...was because we had seen some movie that showed some of the back alleys in Chinatown and thought that it would be "neat" to see first hand what they looked like....so we did. We walked up to Coit (sp?) tower....down to Fisherman's Warf....up and down streets we never heard about.... At about 7 am we headed back to the bus terminal. Took the trolly to get there. And you know what? Not once...NOT ONCE AND AT NO TIME did we feel threatened or fearful of being attacked from ANYONE. Try that today. I doubt you'd ever get out alive, or unraped or without getting HIV from some aggressive sickos. Hell, I don't think you'd get two blocks from the bus terminal without being attacked.
Yes, my friend, it's turned into a real sick world we live in today. I moved from California in 1973. I went back a few times, but found it was too depressing when I'd think about how California USED TO BE a beautiful state to live in and grow up in. Not any more.
Oh yeah....and yur gonna love this one...the REASON I moved from California in 1973 was because of the crime...yeah...I'd bet that one brings a smile to your face....me complaining about the crime back then, eh? ((((smile))) I now live in North Bend, Oregon...been living here since I left that southern screwed up - today a fascist state - state.
Well, don't ask me why I'm writing to ya other than I found your description of LA to be quite on target.
Um...one last thing. I'm a white guy that worked in the Weyerhaeuser sawmill over here in North Bend for 10 years..... and can very probably be considered to be a right wing conspiracy theorist red neck gun owner and damn well proud of it. The old values WERE the good values and still are. It's just that today the sickos of society want to denegrate the old values and try to make them seem as though they are no longer applicable today in these "modern times". Hell, the only reason that they try to do that is to try to legitimize the way they have chosen to live. Guess the only way they can try to throw off their own guilt for being the sickos that they are is to try to destroy the old values of God, Country and Honor. To them all I have to say is that a long as this old boy is alive they will most definately have a fight on their hands...
Anyway....guess I've jabbered enough. Um...one more thing...if you are against this NWO crap and against what our government is doing with respect to working to trash our rights, well, I have a email list and you would be welcome.

Again, nice page. Keep up the good work!

Till later...

Les

Just read your piece on the great Northwest. I kinda feel like like you do about the South. In fact I lived just outside of Waco in '92 when the government goons marched in and murdered Mr. Korish and his following with absolutely no due process of any law that would have been recognized, much less acknowledged, by the founding fathers. Two weeks after the "Texas Barbecue," (as it was put by a goon bragging mirthfully in a local tavern just before the fire) I moved to Alaska to get as far away as possible from that Taxes shithole and still reside in the US. Later I moved South to Washington state where I presently reside. Anyway I was looking at the photograph of the street sweeper you mentioned in your article about the Aryan Nations debacle and that is when I noticed the mud flaps on the truck following the parade.

I READ YOUR WEB SITE AND I LAUGHT AT MOST OF YOUR INFORMATION AND OPINIONS. BECAUSE YOUR RIGHT IM MEXICAN AND IF IT WAS THE OTHER WAY I WOULD BE MAD AS HELL TOO. BUT IT IS NOT SO MOST PEOPLE DONT SEE IT THAT WAY. THEY DONT CARE HOW THINGS END UP AS LONG AS THEY GET WHAT THEY WANT. BUT NOT EVERYTHING IS LIKE THAT I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND ITS GETTIN MORE HISPANIC POPULATION. BUT NOT OUT OF CONTROL BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WHO LIVE DOWN HERE HAVE AN EDUCATION AND KNOW HOW TO GET ALONG WITH OTHER RACES. I MAKE ABOUT $50,000 A WEEK AND SOME HISPANICS IN THIS AREA DO ABOUT THE SAME . THE THING THAT GETS TO ME IS WHEN THEY SAY THAT HISPANICS ARE TAKING AWAY THERE JOBS WHAT JOBS! LOOK IF YOU SEE A HISPANIC BUSSINESS DOESNT THAT MEAN THAT THERE ARE MORE JOBS BEEN GENERATED. IF YOU HAD A CHOICE WHAT JOBS WOULD YOU PICK CONSTRUCTION OR OFFICE WORK, DISHWASHER OR INVESTOR I CAN SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE OTHER THAN HISPANICS ARE FIGHTING OVER FIELD WORK. WELL ENOUGH OF THAT NOW THE SOLUTION YOU HAVE SET UP ARE GOOD ONES BUT WHAT IS THIS ABOUT SOCCER BEING A SISSY SPORT I WANA SEE YOU PLAY SOCCER OR EVEN FOOTBALL ONE ENTIRE HALF. HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE OF FOOTBALL NONE HOW MANY DIE OF SOCCER MANY. AND ASK AROUND THE WORLD AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THE HELL FOOTBALL IS AND ASK FOR SOCCER SEE WHICH ONE IS PLAYED. AND YEAH FOOTBALL IS A HARDSPORT BUT SO IS SOCCER. AND THAT THING ABOUT PUTTING EVERY BODY IN JAIL WOULD WORK BUT FOR HOW LONG. THE FIRST PROBLEM WOULD BE OVER CROUDING AND THEN YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. THEY HAVE TO RELEACE SOME CONVICTS NO MATTER WHAT THEY WERE CONVICTED OF AND WHO'S IN MORE TROUBLE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE USED TO HARD LIFE OR THE ONES THAT ARE USED TO A GOOD LIFE AND PASSED THAT LAW.

So... I had a job offer in LA and am considering moving there. The smog concerns me, so I did some searching on the web to find out if it's all reputation or truth these days. Your page was one of the results.
Anyway, that's a very spirited website. Skimming through the other sections, and making my why to my main concern (smog), I read exactly what I was afraid of: breathing problems. I'm not too woried about gange violence or anything like that -- I'm sure I could find a decent gated community or something. But that smog - yea - that's concerning.
Currently I'm living in a suburb of Boulder Colorado. This place must be getting more and more like Southern cali, because whenever I meat one of the 500,000 new yearly transplants, they consistantly from the LA area.
So is it really true that you can't take a deep breath? The Denver area (ironically, not Boulder -- Boulder's air blows right on into Denver and stays) has been known to have smog -- on bad days you see a brown cloud, not huge buildings, looking at Denver from Boulder. On most days, there is a hint of orange in the air around downtown, and on summer days, it's clear. (We have bad winters -- that's when people use wood-burning fire places, oddly enough drive more, and inversion layers form)
Those pictures on your site look like foggy days -- not smoggy days? Are you sure that's air pollution not mist? Looks like clouds, not smoke.
Anyway, interesting website. . . I'm conflicted still. I'll probably go take a week-long trip and see if it's the wasteland you describe or just like a more populated Denver...

Hey I just moved to San Bernardino (Mini-Mexico) from Spokane, WA. I moved here last Summer and I hate it. There is way too much graffiti, gangs, and shit that is in Spanish. Half of the damn billboards I cant even read because they aren't in English! I live in a Mexican community and I cant even walk down the street without the fear of getting beat up or killed. I'm not what you'd call "racist" but I am proud to be white (I have "colored" friends). I'm 14 so I go to Middle School, and at my school there is a double-standard. Mexicans and Blacks always call White kids "honkie" etc. in front of teachers who don't do anything. But when someone of the White race says "nigger" they get in trouble! That's bullshit! I can't wait till next year (dad is done with his program at Loma Linda Medical Center) so I can move back to "No Man's Land". Well, congratulations on moving to the Great North-West.

-Tyler

Just wanted to tell you that I love the site. I grew up in Sylmar... still have family there, in one of the small, little tiny area's we thought was still ok. Boy were we wrong, I got a call from home... "Guess what they found less than a 1/2 mile from the house?" "Ok, I'll play along Mom... a dead body." "Close, body parts." I guess things were too quiet for too long. I'm in Las Vegas now, not much better I suppose, but atleast I was able to escape the lovely smog filled San Fernando Valley. Anyway, keep up the great work and congrats on your move...

Angie

I just LOVE this one.... First the guy cusses me out, then a couple of days later acts like my 'buddie'....

Listen you little bitch, the only reason L.A. "sucks" to you is because you are a lifeless bastard and you have nothing to do.
I dont live in L.A. and I would love to anyday. I am in ATLANTA, someone mentioned to me that the nice parts in L.A. are the bad barts in Atlanta, as much as I love ATLANTA I would have to say...........NO, SoCal Looks MUCH better than atlanta, atlanta is pretty trashy and run-down. GO FUCK YOURSELF
ALL OF YOU HERE, DONT LISTEN TO HIM, HE PROBABLY DOESNT LIVE IN L.A. STUPID PIECE OF SHIT BASTARD GO FUCK OFF.

Hello, my brother E-Mailed you, and I have some questions....Please take time and read it!
Hey, have you been to Atlanta before, and why do you hate L.A. so much....I love it, and if you dont like it then you should have moved before! Well, If California is so bad, why do they have the highest percentage of people moving in from other states? If California is so bad how come more than 80% of the worlds richest live in Cali? If you are rich you could live anywhere you want....and they picked California, Ive been there before, and you say it is ugly? Yeah right, California is the most BEAUTIFUL state Ive ever been to in My life, and Ive been to almost every state in the US, except Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. I dont get where you are comming from at all, I was just t in L.A. two weeks, ago...and I thought it looked gorgeous to me....well you think Venice is bad looking too? Yeah right.....Well, Im in New York right now, and do you like NYC? because it is just like L.A....I used to live in Miami Florida, and it was just like L.A. too....Ok whatever reason you dont like L.A. for, you dont have to discourage the Future California residents by putting up that bullshit web page, you could have done a better job than that,,,You must have lived in California a long time ago, because it is much nicer and cleaner now....iI Think the northwest is beautiful too, for the people that like the quiet life.......Oh, and Its funny you mentioned only about L.A. how about the hundreds of cities in So Cal, because the only thing you can mention is Earthquakes, floods and fires, and crime...You know the safest city in the US is in Southern California, Thousand Oaks, you know money magazine named like 10 places in California the best to live in the US, San Francisco won for most beautiful, and best place to live if you have money, well and the other like 3 places over, were in California, most in SoCal....Well I hope you enjoy the North Pacific, I know I will enjoy California, and........um can you please tell me the 15 worst places to live in your book., please I need it, I hope you did not take this personally...Please Im me back ASAP....

Best Wishes,

Jermaine.

ps. how does your children and wife like the quiet life in Montana, or wherever you said you are? I was thinking about buying one in that area also

Here's another gem.... some fucking Limey Brit who hasn't a CLUE as to what's going on here, calling me all kinds of pleasent names and blaming me for all the problems in L.A.
Remind me later to add England to my "Other Places and Things that SUCK!!!" page...

Well fuck me.........
I thought that the U.S. was the land of opportunity and wealth - just like on the TV .......Ha Ha Ha ... I applaud you for trying to highlight the problems of L.A. ( and I loved the trip to Canada......) You have an awesome website, much more than we in the U.K. would dare to publish... Your site just goes to prove that unless you experience it yourself, you can't believe the hype from the governments and tourist industries.
I live in the U.K. and it's getting like your L.A. here someplaces - I used to be a taxi driver in Manchester, U.K. but after I was hijacked, kidnapped and beaten up all in one night, I don't drive anymore... This was all due to the black youth gangs in Moss Side, Manchester, that are styling themselves on gangs from L.A. - thanks to YOU. Kids as young as 9 or 10 walking around at night with firearms, dealing drugs and ripping off anything that hasn't got 3 tons of concrete attached to it.... drive by shootings....rape....prostitution.... I can well believe that LA is getting into a mess -

but WHY DID YOU LET IT HAPPEN ?
YOU are responsible
YOU voted in the politicians
YOU put up with the corruption for YEARS
YOU hid the problems for YEARS
YOU allowed the slave labour that attracts the illegal's
YOU live behind locked doors
YOU allow "congress" to ignore YOU
Then people like you RUN AWAY from it ?

No wonder the Hispanics are taking over - the locals are on the run.... How long before YOU vote corrupt politicians in at your new hometown, falling for their smooth talking and promises ?
How long before YOU create another LA, or Philly, or NY, or blah blah blah........ I will not do that - I will be making the difference in MY community for MY community, trying to CHANGE it.
I won't have much success, but if enough of us try, we may achieve something for our family and friends and children......

YOU ARE A COWARD - your generation created this, yet you run away ? What the hell do you expect people in poverty to do ? You say you worked for the Water authority ( shame about Pacific Gas and Electric....) in a gang area, did you ever stop to help anyone ? did you ever think why they are like they are ? did you ever try to see it from their point of view ? Did you fuck !

Too scared of getting your arse shot off I'll bet............
Don't get me wrong, I love the website and the ideal behind it,
I just think you should remember who caused the very problems you are telling the world about.
( p.s. what's a tagger ? )

Jon Hyatt.

Hey, I just saw your "Is this Mexico or America" page, and I have to say RIGHT ON! I'm not racist or anything, but I live in America, and I'm sick of feeling like I'm in the middle of Mexico. I don't live in LA or California, but I go to college in Arizona, and there are a lot of similarities. Last weekend, I took a public bus to a Phoenix neighborhood. The bus tickets were in Spanish! Not English AND Spanish -- just Spanish! I also had the privilege of walking through a Hispanic neighborhood (I was with a geography grad student who was kind enough to point out all the ways one could tell we were in a Hispanic neighborhood). Some of the people who work for the school's food service don't speak a word of English. I have volunteered at public schools in the area, and some of them only want volunteers who speak Spanish, because they're not even teaching the kids to speak English.

I just stumbled across your website for the first time. I find it refreshing to see that I am not the only person out there who can't stand California. I am from New England. On the page where you described the place you now live it sounded so much like where I live and it reminded me why I am so glad to live here. when I graduated from highschool 7 years ago two friends of mine decided to take a road trip to san Diego California and I decided to go and spend a couple months out there. I had never been and figured it would be fun. I didn't appreciate the wonderful place in New Hampshire that I had lived all my life California was "the place where all beautiful people and places were" Boy was I in for a wake up call. The road trip itself was great. seeing the country and being on our own and such. But the moment I arrived in California it was one disappointment after another. Starting at the moment we crossed the border into California. I felt like I was entering another country or something. There was this huge border patrol setup even though I was entering a state in MY country?! When we arrived to San Diego I remember wondering when the "fog" would ever lift. (found out later it was called smog and it never "lifts") When I attempted to get a temporary job for the time we would be out there I was told by the manager of the Whole Foods Market that he would "rather hire a Mexican as he could pay him less". For the most part the 9 months that I ended up spending there was mostly in San Diego. but should I tell you about the ONE time I took a "ride" to L.A.? The three and a half hours I spent on the road was just the beginning The traffic detour that we got stuck in because a guy had blown his head off in the middle of the highway was another. Pulling over to the side of the road for literally two seconds to get directions and getting slapped with an 80 dollar parking ticket BEFORE we even had a chance to put the car into park was yet another. Needless to say I haven't been back to L.A. since. Oh and the one time I decided to go to Tijuana?? I wasn't even sure I had crossed the border! it still looked the same. I could go on forever about all the nightmarish things I went through over there.....6 months to get a non-driver id, (here you pay the money and they hand it to you), Ridiculously high rent to live in ghetto neighborhoods, walking down a public street and seeing a pornographic poster of a man spread eagle in the window of a gay store, giant stores that sell condoms, valley girls (and boys) that always talk like they are on crack. But as I have seen you are already well aware of these things. Needless to say I returned to my small town on the New Hampshire seacoast wondering why the hell I never realized what a paradise I live in. Every day now I wake up to the sound of birds chirping and thank God that I am back. Here I can swim in the rivers, drink water from the tap, Know my neighbors, Get a decent job, pay fair rent and live in a clean moral neighborhood, run my dog on grassy fields, and look out my window and see trees, flowers, and wildlife. Thank God....One good thing came from my trip to California, I met my husband and brought him back here with me. Still I am and will forever be stuck having to visit California about twice a year, but at least I see through what it claims to be.
anyway sorry for rambling it was just good to see someone agrees

Michelle

Hey, I lost your site for a while. Glad I found it again! Anyway, I wanted to comment on one part of the site I don't agree with. In the "If a ran the circus", you state that no one without a job would be able to vote. My wife, who fortunately does not HAVE to work, takes care of the MOST important task at hand....our kids.....Some would say THAT'S a job....when actually, it's a responsibility!
And she's a REPUBLICAN to boot!!!
Thanks so much for keeping this site operating. I love it!

Take care

Mike

Hey Pal, You totally rock. I also speak the truth that people don't want to hear. I try not to be mean about it, but what the hell. People can be so idealistic. I live in Iowa and they are trying to pass English only laws for county governments etc:, and nobody really cares. They don't realize what is happening to our country. The really sad thing is that there is no stopping it. By 2040 this will be North Mexico. I tell people this and they laugh. Try to get a spot on 60 minutes or 20/20 to express your views and it will never happen. I've said enough.
Keep truthin' my new ally and friend...

Bill Cxxxxxxxxx

This guy/gal means well, I suppose... I find it rather ironic that he/she ..... Being from Switzerland, where last I heard it is a requirement that all households have firearms .... That he/she should condem us for our freedom to own weapons. Of course a lot of his/her facts are dead-assed wrong, but what the hey.... They know about as much of the USA as I know about Switzerland. But I tried to set them straight anyway.

Hello Bruce

I've read most of Your page and found it very informative and shocking, but a little polemic some times. I live and origin in Switzerland ( hope You know where THAT is ;-) and the Problem You described in Your City were not new to me, but more detailed that anything read before.
Recently, me and my folk here were shocked by the brutal and reasonless raids on schools in USA, were kids shot down kids, like in Littleton. I've seen a lot of movies from CA / Hollywood and learned the pink glasses weared over there to see the truth. *yuck*. All the "Beauty or Beast" crap thinking described by You really match on almost everything I've seen from USA, except for some great pictures that tried to show REAL Problems, like for example "Colours" and others, which of course were beautified too.
I worry about the bad school system in USA, I've heard similar things from a lot of friends that were in the States with student-exchange programs. I must be real bad. And the violence at schools seems to be a tough problem. But how could a teacher make it's class learn if the understanding for the need of education on student's side is missing and even children already carry firearms?
How could the teachers have any "authority" and force children to learn if they risk being killed by any mad guy at any time? If gangs don't care at all if someone, teacher or not, is homicided? I a world were guns rule, reason is void. I truly believe that all severe problems in the USA origin from the fact that guns are more easily bought than alcohol or sex, that everyone carry'em, that on TV (which american youth REALLY watches too much) shows more violence and deatch each day than, pervert, sex! In a country where Porno on TV is believed to harm chilren more than any violence, murder and death?
I think the only realistic way for the USA to manage the problems is to deal with the firearm-problems. Citizen of USA HAVE TO GET RID OF THE "RIGHT OF ANY AMERICAN TO WEAR A WEAPON" INSTANTLY, prohibit weapon sells COMPLETELY, remove ALL GUNS AND WEAPONS from citizens, destroy ALL Facilities that produce WEAPONRY for everyone!!!! No more gun stores, no more ammunition, no more killings. Then, reason might regain advantage over violence. I am sure if USA does not quickly make a compromiss and halt owning firearm, the real problems will get worse! BTW, did You know that USA is the no one producer of weaponry?!? I'm sure You know, but did You REALIZE IT? It can't go on like this. How should peace rule if war is seeded for money aspects? ("a lot of people earn their money with weapons" a.s.o., this is pervert.!)
And remember: the USA government pays hundreds of billions of $ a year for military equipment. How many are spent for police? If California really has the lessest amount of police officers per citizen, then why ain't they increased? Why don't You (US) spend a few more billions a year to enable the security forces to do their job: prevent people from crime?!?

I really hope the USA and it's citizens once will realize this.
And change their mind. Maybe...

I wish You all good luck and peace. I hope You won't get shot by a maniac for writing this site ;-)

I got the day off from work today so I decided to take a nice drive in southern california. I just love driving around here, everyone is so nice and courteous. As I am driving on the on ramp approaching the freeway I look in my mirror and notice someone Is following me very close, gee this has never happend before. It's ok though, he is driving a BMW, and looks like a very important man , much more important than I, and he probably has a very important meeting to go to. As I continue my trek, I look in my side view mirror and notice a car approaching rapidly. My heart races is it... is it....yes it is!!!!! It's a lowerd Honda with stickers all over it. I have only seen one other this year, such creativity such , such individuality. As my journey continues, I am completely amazed at all the wonderful adornment of stickers all over windows and bumpers. Lets get a closer look at this one over here, "my kid beat up your honor roll student" It is so refreshing to know people still have a sense of humor. Oh and here is another one of a cartoon character urinating on a ford sticker, and can you believe it another guy did the same in reverse, his cartoon character is urinating on a chevrolet sticker. Take a look at this one, his cartoon character isn't urinating on anything, he's just urinating!!! I really want to thank these people because I know why they put these stickers on there cars, it's for the kids, children just love cartoons. I continue rolling along and suddenly I see brake lights coming on in front of me, oh no , we are coming to a complete stop. There was probably an accident ahead. I hope they are ok. All of a sudden everybody is honking their horns, they couldn't be trying to get traffic moving again, we are at a dead stop due to an accident. I know what their doing, they are calling for help! I join in!!!! It worked and it only took two hours.Everyone is also showing their concern by almost coming to a complete stop as they drive by the scene of the accident.I will never understand why a lot people complain about not having a good transit system in southern california, driving is so much more fun and efficient.Well I better get of the freeway now, someone is following me very close again. Thats ok it looks like a twenty something in a mini van and her two kids, probably late for a soccer game. Have a great day!

I had a job offer in LA and found your page researching my decision? Well, I decided I should see for myself. What a wasteland. Good call. LA sucks.
It's the only town I've seen that has barb wire on the highway signs to keep them from being vandalised.

Yeesh. Despite the sucking economy, I turned down the offer.

Ken Kxxxxx

Dear "lacasuck":

Wow. I am in amazement at your website. Clearly, you have exerted and invested a tremendous amount of energy towards creating and maintaining this website, and probably more time actually contemplating the ideas behind your website. You have so much frustration in your life, which is a shame, but it is more pitiful that you make this obsessive website as your outlet for your aggressions. Just think of all the constructive things you could do instead :) Truly, life is short, and of course life will be full of violence, unfairness, and personal dislikeness, but it's not worth it to live with such a grudge, pessimism, cynicism, and overall unhappiness! You have to take the driver's seat in your life's journey, and be pro-active. If you're unhappy with your life, then DO something to change it, instead of ridiculing your surroundings on the sideline and being passive. Have you thought that you could actually HELP those people around you? We are all human, and we are all in this life together. We have more similarities than differences, and just imagine how much more peaceful our lives would be if we came together, tried to understand each other, and helped each other out, rather than separating ourselves from them. This is my vision in life, and I am only 14 years old. I don't know how old you are, but I hope I will be more mature, responsible, accountable, and happier in life than you when I grow up.

Mr. Herder:

I accidentally discovered your website (LA Sucks!) and found myself nodding in agreement. I too live here in southern California, in Pomona (I call it East Tijuana), and work for the city of Pasadena in the water and power dept. as a power dispatcher for the local electric utility. My wife and I have been out here for 22 years. I'm holding on when I turn 50 two years from now, so I can collect my retirement and get the hell out.
We're moving to Sagle, Idaho. We have 10 acres of forested land on the Lake Pend Oreille peninsula (already paid for!). In fact, tomorrow I start my long awaited vacation and we are heading north to check out the property. We first went to Idaho 11 years ago at the insistence of an eighty-year-old woman who lived in Sedona, Arizona, and who gave us Pastor Butler's telephone number. She was a friend of his, so our very first stop in the panhandle was to visit the Aryan Nations Church in Hayden Lake and talk with Pastor Butler. He told us to go to Sandpoint, so we did. We visited him twice (and was warned off by a person-in-the-know to stay away from his church as it was constantly under FBI surveillance) and we had a great conversation with him and his friends over many hours. We found a real estate agent in Sandpoint, and he showed us property for two weeks.
We stayed in Sandpoint for two weeks, and our first dinner was at the Pizza Hut north of the town. When we walked in (and it was near Christmas time), I just stopped and stared: the restaurant was packed, and there was nothing but white people inside. I damn near cried. My wife and I looked at each other with big wide smiles and said to each other, "We're home."
So I'm trying to hold on for two more years. Wish us luck. I hope to meet you some time later on, trade war stories. . . .

I like this one.... I'm a psycopath, but he still likes me and thinks what I'm doing is "right".... Go figure!

Yo chill out, I know what you are doing is right but deep down you sound like a repressed psychopath. It seems between the lines you would just love to take out these kids line them up and kill them. You really have a lot of rage but after reading your dissertation you are no better matter of fact you are far worse than the evilest gangbabanger in LA because you have what appears to be an education albeit a very brilliant way in conveying your myopic message yet you have extremely dysfunctional perceptions delusional is what comes to mind. As far as the story is concerned it's very one sided you address the issue like a predictable cretin or as you say moron and you are not. I can see you are quite bright but you miss the point you judge the action and not the true cause. I think I could respect you and acknowledge your research if you lived in the jungle with these predators like I have but you wouldn't because you know deep down you are a punk not because you are afraid but because you think you are better than they are and in reality you are not. And no matter what you may think in your psychotically repressed mind these are still kids we are talking about; we created them in the first place they're sick because society makes them sick if you have ever heard of Marshall Mcluhan you probably haven't so why bother. Take a little advice maybe when you wise up in the immortal words of Hamlet you will realize "there is nothing either good or bad but thinking which makes it so." So chill out and judge yourself before you judge someone else. Your probably going to write me a nasty email but if you really know anything about anything you will probably realize I'm right and for what ever it's worth I think your site is a killer site obviously the work of a closet psychopath hahahahhahahahah you probably want to kill me too how bout we just kill everybody hahahaha you probably would ove that a global gang war. Peace Mother fucker I like you for what ever it's worth

Hi.

I'm not sure how I stumbled across your web site but I thought I would give it the courtesy to see just what was involved here. Unfortunately I find you bashing a whole country due to one bad experience with a border guard on the Canadian side. Now who's the real Nazi here? Just to let you in on a little "not so well known" secret Nelson B.C is the stoner Mecca of Canada and for a family outing? You definitely chose the wrong place my friend. It is unfortunate that you will never return since you're missing out on one of the most beautiful 'free" countries in the world and it's virtually right at your doorstep. And just to let you in on a little something when it comes to border crossing. Americans think Canadians are idiots! We get it all the time (as you pre conceived dialogue clearly stated, Eh? We're not Fargo North Dakota here!!) and we get hassled at your border too....strip searching is common place when trying to enter "Detroit" the most decrepit city on earth. So take my advice and come to some of our more beautiful and cultural cities in Canada like Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa or maybe even Vancouver? It wouldn't have been that much further from Nelson. Anyway we Canadians don't like to get into any major brew ha ha with our neighbours. We just ask that you be a little more open minded before spouting to the world that Canada "sucks beyond comprehension!! Avoid at all costs!!" because hey man..that ain't fair!! You haven't even been here yet.

Live from Toronto Ontario (Home of 4.5 million)

The Canadian.

Your rating of other countries should be reserved for someone with an intellect and capacity to spell at least. You should stop embarrassing yourself and mankind. Rethink before you speak. Maybe you are the problem. As for Truck Drivers, I hope you and your family don't mind starving, because you are complaining about how your groceries get to you. THINK BEFORE YOU WASTE ANYONE ELSE'S TIME AND BRAIN POWER WITH THE CRAP THAT COMES FROM YOUR MIND

for chrissake, don't let them know there are other places!! Colorado has gone from a slow friendly place to LA really east! We're even getting a Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari dealer next year. Please tell all of them that LA is the mecca of the earth and please please please stay there! As for me, Kansas is looking better every day.

PO'd in Denver.

Dear Sir, I have been savoring over every word on your site at work for the last 2 nights. You rock.
I used to live in LA from '73-86 as a kid, the about an hour north of frisco since 86 until now. Back in 86 it was ok, now the shit is becoming like la with all the crime and road rage and latino gangs etc.
I'm in school now, but when I get my degree I am out of here. My best buddy and his family are going to Cour 'd Alene (sp) next summer. He did a recon last month and showed me some gorgeous picture of the place. It seem that "no man's land" is the last place on earth where you can be free.
Anyhoo, i understand what you went through. One day on a visit I got on the 5 from the 101 merge dowtown and it took me fuckin' 3 hours to get to Anaheim. Fuck that. I would love to placed on your list for some updates. Thanks. Your site has been very imformative. To transfer to a UC, one needs 2 years of a foreign language.
It will NOT be spanish for this guy.

Sir,

I was wondering if you would like to make a bid for a presidential run. I feel we could kick this country in the collective balls and start making it work.
The reason I ask you this is because just last night we were talking about traffic and I said that trucks should only be allowed to use the highway from 10pm until 6am. This and other views of yours mirror my own, like soccer, welfare, and especially the one about public officials being bonded - that is a damn incredible idea. So, it's either the Presidential run, or I expect to going through a lot of ammunition in a few years if the scum in America get any more wild.

Tell me what you think,

Tim Mcxxxxxxx

I stumbled across your site this morning. Ironically, my wife and I will be in Northern Idaho in two weeks checking out the area to see if it's a place that we would like to move to. Central Florida is fast going the way of California. I would like to raise my family (two girls and a boy) someplace that resembles the United States that I grew up in. I especially enjoyed your essay about your first winter in Idaho. I found it to be both sobering and reassuring at the same time.
Currently I am a park manager for the local county and my wife is a stock broker. I will be looking for a similar job there, but my wife is interested in going into business.

Keep up the good work.

Dear sir, I was just reading your website. Though the language is a little rough, I COMPLETELY understand the frustration behind it. You see, I live in Van Nuys. 'Nuff said, right? Suffice it to say I KNOW the truth of what you say! Right now I'm trying to figure out where to move to. So many other places, though they might be better than LA right now, are well on their way to BECOMING like LA. It's only a matter of time. But I know I can't stay in LA my whole life.
When I first moved to LA in the '70s, I thought I had died and gone to Paradise. I thought I would live here forever. But no more. I am now a foreigner in my own town; a persecuted minority, despised by my neighbors, and fearful all the time. There's GOT to be places better than this!

Anyway, I'm sure you are getting a lot of flak for your website. I'm certain you are being called a racist, an angry white male, yadda, yadda, yadda. But I think you are absolutely correct in the things you say! Keep on speaking out!

Sincerely,

Nea

Dear Bruce,

Okay, I just couldn't stop myself from reading the whole site!
It's SOOOO true. I'm glad to learn that you have escaped the asylum that is LA.
Hopefully someday I will be able to say the same.

You mentioned not being able to take your kids to Magic Mountain. That reminded me of something I heard recently, something you might find interesting.
Recently the company I work for, (and I'd better not name the company, or the type of company, in case you post this e-mail on your site,) obtained a statement from some guy who works in security at Magic Mountain.
According to him, the park has made a deal with gangbangers. If they check their weapons into a locker before entering the park, THEY GET IN FOR FREE.

I was so outraged when I heard this-- haven't been able to find out if it's true or not-- of course the park probably won't admit it publicly. But supposedly, in the interest of safety for those inside the park, Magic Mountain has caved in to the gangbangers. While you or I would have to pay to get in to the park, gang members get in for free! This proves it. This is the final evidence. The gangbangers have won. They've got us where they want us. They've got everyone running so scared that they (the gangbangers) can call the shots and get whatever they demand.

In a way, I can understand Magic Mountain's point of view. They've had shootings there. It's bad for business. They can't ban people from entering the park just because they *look* like gangbangers, because that is "racism" and "discrimination" and will result in lawsuits. (I have already heard of at least one lawsuit filed against them by some girl who was refused admittance because she looked like a gang member.) And they can't very well let the gangbangers bring weapons into the park. I'd imagine it would also look bad, and scare customers, if they searched for weapons at the entrance or made everybody walk through a metal detector. So no doubt somebody at the park decided that this was the only solution.

But still-- it is appalling that the park would kiss up to these criminals, letting them in for free, while law-abiding people have to pay. This proves that the world has gone crazy. It proves that things are hopeless. It proves that the decent people of the world have lost!
Someday, I predict there will be no more amusement parks. Even Disneyland is changing, with rude foreigners (especially Mexicans,) boldly pushing, shoving, and brazenly cutting into the lines, while white patrons cower, too scared to speak up or report the offenders. Someday all amusement parks will have become so ruined, so unsafe, that they will have to be shut down. (Just like a lot of smaller, less well-known parks have already had to do.)

Anyway, just had to rant a bit. Thanks again for your site!
